Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra step when signing in, helping protect your account even if your password is compromised.
Set Up MFA
If MFA is available in your account settings:
- Sign in to the ePortal.
- Open your account or security settings.
- Choose Multi-factor authentication (or Two-factor authentication).
- Follow the prompts to connect an authenticator app.
- Save your recovery codes in a secure place.
Keep recovery codes safe
Recovery codes can be used to access your account if you lose your device. Store them securely and do not share them.
Replace Your MFA Device
If you are getting a new phone/device:
- Add a new MFA method before removing the old one (if you still have access).
- Confirm the new method works by signing in again.
If you no longer have access to your MFA device, see Account recovery.
MFA Troubleshooting
- Codes not accepted: Check your device time is set automatically; time drift can cause invalid codes.
- No access to recovery codes: You may need support-assisted recovery.
- Repeated prompts: Clearing cookies or using private browsing can cause more frequent verification.
