Upload Documents
Many services require you to upload supporting documents (for example, certificates, photos, or identity documents). The ePortal will show what formats and sizes are accepted.
Before You Upload
- Use clear scans or photos where all text is readable.
- If your document is not in English, you may need a certified translation (service requirements will specify this).
- Make sure you are uploading the correct document type for the step you are on.
Uploading in the ePortal
- Select Upload (or Choose file) on the relevant step.
- Choose the file from your device.
- Wait for the upload to finish before leaving the page.
- Confirm the uploaded file appears in the list (and preview it if available).
Common Upload Errors
- File too large: Reduce file size, scan at a lower DPI, or upload as PDF if supported.
- Unsupported file type: Convert to an accepted format (the ePortal will list allowed types).
- Upload failed: Check your connection, refresh the page, and try again.
Vital records and translations
Vital records services may require certified translations. See Vital Records for examples of common requirements.
