Heraldic Design

The Heraldic Design section provides expert heraldic design services for the creation of new coats of arms, flags, badges, and other heraldic devices.

Responsibilities​

  • Design of new armorial bearings
  • Creation of heraldic artwork and emblazons
  • Design of flags, badges, and standards
  • Advice on heraldic symbolism and tradition
  • Production of official heraldic documents
  • Coordination with the Grants of Arms section

Design Services​

The Institute's heraldic artists work with petitioners to design arms that are both personally meaningful and compliant with heraldic tradition and the rules of the Institute.
